The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous park, known for its vast golden plains and incredible wildlife. It’s home to the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over a million wildebeest and zebras move across the savannah in search of fresh grazing followed closely by lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

You'll get to know Serengeti National Park in the best possible way on a guided game drive. Led by an expert guide, you'll drive out across the park's famous savannahs to look for the incredible wildlife (big cats, elephants and more) that calls the park home.

At the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge, you’re well-placed for making the most of everything that this extraordinary park has to offer. A good restaurant and large rooms with old-school safari decor make this a good base. But it’s the hilltop location high above one of the park’s most prolific wildlife corridors that you’ll enjoy most. And when the migration is passing through, the plains down below can resemble a river of zebras and wildebeest.

Day 3 & 4 Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro is a special place and the first time that you descend onto the crater floor is like no other safari experience in Africa. This is a world unto itself, one where you’ll encounter the crater’s 600-strong population of hyenas, as well as critically endangered black rhinos. You’ll also find elephants with larger-than-average tusks, and more than 50 lions living in the crater. But it’s the sheer beauty of Ngorongoro that will most likely live longest in your memory. From early morning, mist rises from the crater, revealing steep, forested walls, secret waterways where hippos wallow, and a world of abundant wildlife hidden away from the rest of the world.

On this morning's guided game drive, we'll take you down into Ngorongoro Crater; the drive down is one of the most thrilling possible approaches for a day of wildlife viewing. You'll be down in the crater for most of the day looking for lions, hyenas, black rhinos and more.

Your early morning descent into Ngorongoro Crater is a fantastic way to begin your safari day. The guided game drive will take in all the best views, as well as wildlife that could include lions, hyenas and black rhinos.

Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

Expect high levels of comfort to go with the expansive views out across the crater at Serena’s Ngorongoro outpost. From your perch – room or restaurant – just below the crater rim, you’ll look out over the caldera in all its glory. Seen from above, even elephants take on the appearance of ants. Enjoy casual but excellent service, and rooms that are large and lovely.
